Windows XP

Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet Connections -> Network Connections -> Create a New Connection.
OR
Start -> Settings -> Network Connections -> Create a New Connection.

NEW CONNECTION WIZARD:

 

Next -> Connect to the Internet -> Next -> Set up my connection manually -> Next ->
Connect using a Dial-up Modem -> Next -> (Type) Falcon Dialup -> Next -> (Phone Number) Colorado Springs =886-8881 or Pueblo = 202-1500 -> Next -> (Enter) User Name and password (please note: user name and password must be lowercase) -> Next -> (check) Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.

You should see a shortcut on your desktop labeled FALCON DIALUP.

Windows ME Dialup Setup

 

  1. To begin the internet connection wizard… Double click on My Computer then Internet and Dialup Settings, select “Make a new Connection”.

 

NOTE: IF during the wizard it asks you select a modem, have the customer select the modem that is automatically highlighted, then hit ok. This is normally the correct modem to use, unless the customer has installed a different modem, in which case they should select the newest modem.

  1. In the Internet Connection Wizard dialog box, first select “Connect using my phone line” and click Next.
  2. Select “Create a New Dial-Up connection.”
  3. Check the “Dial using the area code and country code” box. Type in the Dialup number Colorado Springs =886-8881 or Pueblo = 202-1500. Then select advanced.
  4. For the “IP address”, make sure that “Internet service provider automatically provides one” has a black dot next to it. The dot means that it is the selected option. Under “DNS server address” make sure that a black dot is next to “My ISP automatically provides a Domain Name Server (DNS) address” then select OK. Then select Next if the screen returns you to the prior screen. (ie above screen.)
  5. Enter your Falcon Broadband Username and Password (lower case letters). Look closely at the username that you entered. It should look like an email address. If your username is joefrog, then your username on this screen should look like joefrog. Click Next.
  6. Name your connection, type in Falcon Dialup. And click next.
  7. Under “set up your e-mail account” select Yes and click “Next.”
  8. Select “Create a new Internet mail account”, and click “Next.”
  9. Enter you Display Name, and click Next. Note: This name is appended to all outgoing e-mail, and can be whatever you like.
  10. Enter your Falcon Broadband E-mail address and click next.
  11. Your Incoming mail server is a POP3 server. For Incoming mail enter mail.falconbroadband.net and for Outgoing Mail enter mail.falconbroadband.net ensure that both server names are in all lowercase letters, and click next.
  12. Enter your full email address for the Account name. Enter your password and ensure that “Log on using Secure Password Authentication” is un-checked, then click next.
  13. Congratulations, you have completed your Internet Connection Wizard Setup. Click Finish.


Configuring Windows 2000

 

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Click the Network and Dial-up Connections link.
  3. Double-click Make New Connection (the Network Connection Wizard will start).
  4. Click Next.
  5. Under Network Connection Type, select Dial-up to the Internet.
  6. Click Next.
  7. The Internet Connection Wizard will start.
  8. Under Welcome to the Internet Connection Wizard, select I want to setup my Internet connection manually.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Under How do you connect to the Internet, select I connect through a phone line and modem.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Clear the Use area code and dialing rules checkbox.
  13. Under Telephone number type: Colorado Springs =886-8881 or Pueblo = 202-1500. If necessary you can include other digits (for outside line access or Call waiting disable *70 then the number.)
  14. Click Next.
  15. Enter your User name and Password. (Lower case letters!!!)
  16. Click Next.
  17. Under Connection name, Enter Falcon Dialup.
  18. Click Next.
  19. Under Do you want to setup an Internet mail account now, select No.
  20. Click Next.
  21. Clear the To connect to the Internet … box.
  22. Click Finish.
  23. In the screen there should be two icons, Make New Connection & Falcon Dialup.
  24. Right click on Falcon Dialup then select Create Shortcut. (a message will appear stating you cannot place the shortcut here, would you like it placed on the desktop.) Click YES.
  25. Now close both open screens, and verify that the Falcon Dialup icon is on the desktop.
  26. If not repeat steps, 1,2,23,24,25. 

Windows 95 & 98 Dial-UP Setup.

 

I. Configure Dial-Up Networking

  1. Close all current running applications.
  2. Double-click on the ‘My Computer’ icon on your desktop.
  3. Double-click on the ‘Dial-Up Networking’ yellow folder.
  4. Double-click on the ‘Make New Connection’ icon inside.
    • Under “Type a name.”, chose a name, like ‘Falcon Dialup’.
      Click ‘Next’.
    • In the Telephone Number selection, enter our phone number: Colorado Springs =886-8881 or Pueblo = 202-1500
      Click ‘Next’.
    • You have completed the setup, click on ‘Finish’.

 


 

II. Create Shortcut & Configure Auto-Redial

  1. While still in Dial-Up Networking, right-click on the new connection we created one time (to get a menu), then select ‘Create Shortcut’.
  2. It will give you a warning mentioning the desktop, select ‘YES’. This puts the icon out on your main screen desktop.
  3. Right Click on the Falcon Dialup Icon and select Properties. Under the General Tab, there should be a box that states use area code and dialing rules. Remove the check mark from this box, this keeps the modem from trying to dial and area code with the number. Then click ok.
  4. Click on the new connection icon again, but one time with the left-mouse button, to highlight it.
  5. On the pull-down menus above, click on ‘Connections’ and then ‘Settings’.
  6. Check ‘Redial’ and set it for 99 Times, 0 Minutes, 3 Seconds. This tells it to try up to 99 times, and allowing 3 seconds between tries to let the modem reset.
  7. You are finished, close all windows.

 


Windows Vista

Configure Dial-Up Networking

 

  1. Click the Start Menu and select Connect to.
  2. Near the bottom of the Network Connections Window, Select Set up a connection or network.
  3. Choose Set up a dial-up connection and then click Next.
  4. Type the phone number.   Colorado Springs =886-8881 or Pueblo = 202-1500
  5. Type the user name and password given by Falcon Broadband and name the connection Falcon Dial Up.
  6. Click connect. If the computer is not currently plugged into the phone jack, the internet connection will fail.  However, you may finish your connection set up wizard without connection to the phone line.
